The state-of-the-art Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) of AIIMS Bhubaneswar received second prize under the Government Health Care Organization category in the prestigious CAHO-ACE programme for 2021.
Medical Superintendent Dr Sachidananda Mohanty and CSSD faculty in-charge Dr Ashok Kumar Jena received the award at a programme held in Kochi.
It’s the first time that AIIMS Bhubaneswar has been conferred national recognition following a strict process.
The ACE award, related to improved compliance adherence in reprocessing reusable items in ensuring better patient safety, is presented to only two health care institutes nationally for compliances over patient safety processes.
Congratulating the unit for this special award, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Prof. Mukesh Tripathi said the national institute has always been following the best practices for better patient safety.
