Prime accused in Bomikhal firing case surrenders

Bhubaneswar: The main accused in Bomikhal firing case, Bunty Jena alias Phula, surrendered before Special Squad here on Thursday night.
On August 20, three motorcycle-borne miscreants had opened fire on manager of Jana Seva Kendra Manoranjan Behera adjacent to the Durga Mandap at Bomikhal. He had sustained bullet injuries and was admitted to a private hospital.
On August 27, Laxmisagar police had arrested Prashant Samantaray alias Bacchu and Bismaya Maharana alias Dipu from Sahid Nagar in connection with the case.
Police sources said several criminal cases are pending against Bunty and attributed the attack on Behera to past enmity.
