Koenjhar: Police on Monday arrested the prime accused in the alleged bomb attack on Keonjhar MLA Mohan Majhi.

Police sources identified the arrested as Raghunath Panda. Five persons – Pratap Rout, Bidyadhar Parida alias Buta, Manmohan Das alias Muna, Sarat Chandra Jena alias Mitua and Sikhul Sheikh – were arrested on October 14 for alleged involvement in hurling two bombs at his vehicle on October 10.

The police had, however, ruled out any political rivalry in the incident. The bombing on the legislator was the fallout of a previous animosity related to financial dealings and personal issues with Bidyadhar Parida and Manmohan Das, Keonjhar Police SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra had told the media.
