Priyanka-Nick & Other Celebs Who Opted For Surrogacy To Become Parents

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas became parents through surrogacy and joined the long list of celebrities who opted for the procedure to become parents.

By choosing surrogacy, the celebrities have shattered the myths surrounding the procedure.

As Priyanka and Nick dive into their new responsibilities, let’s throw some light at the list of Bollywood celebrities who became parents through surrogacy.

A few months before Proyanka and Nick, Preity Zinta had announced parenthood. In November 2021, Preity Zinta and her husband Gene Goodenough welcomed their twins Gita and Jai through surrogacy.

Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra had also opted for surrogacy for their second child. They were blessed with a daughter, Samisha, in 2020.

Filmmaker and TV producer Ekta Kapoor became a single mother through surrogacy at the age of 43. She welcomed her baby boy Ravie on January 27, 2019. She opted for surrogacy after a seven-year-long journey with multiple unsuccessful IUI and IVF attempts.

Her brother and actor Tusshar Kapoor too embraced single fatherhood through surrogacy in June 2016 with his baby boy, Laksshya.

Karan Johar became a single parent with his twins Yash and Roohi by surrogacy which he had announced with a very touch note in his twitter handles.

Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber, also became parents of twin sons Asher and Noah by opting for the procedure surrogacy in 2018.  In June 2017, they adopted a baby girl Nisha from Latur.

Shreyash Talpade and his better half Deepti became parents with the birth of a baby girl named Adyaa in 2018, after 14 years of their marriage via surrogacy.

Actor Lisa Ray and her husband Jason Dehni became parents to twin daughters, Sufi and Soleil, through surrogacy in 2018.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan surprised their fans by giving the news of their third child, a boy in 2013. They named him Abram.

Actor Aamir Khan decided to take the surrogacy route after his former wife Kiran Rao suffered a miscarriage and uterine complications. They welcomed Azad in December 2011. Aamir already had two children – Junaid and Ira, from his previous marriage to Reena.

Sohail Khan, brother of Salman Khan, welcomed their second baby Yohan in June 2011 through IVF surrogacy. The actor-director and wife Seema Khan took the step 10 years after the birth of their son Nirvaan.
