Bhubaneswar: Odisha Food Supplies Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has appealed people not to resort to panic buying in the wake of a probable cyclone.
Speaking to mediapersons, Swain said steps are being taken to prevent black marketing of commodities. All district collectors have been asked to keep an eye on elements indulging in hoarding by taking advantage of the probable cyclone alert and the resultant panic buying.
Those traders resorting to hoarding and black marketing will be dealt with a strong hand and suitable action will be taken, he added.
The Minister reassured that adequate stock of all commodities is available and sought the cooperation of public to maintain the stock.
