Puri: With Odisha set to host Navy Day on its coast for the first time, the venue, Blue Flag Beach in Puri, has started looking like a battlefield.
At least eight battle tanks of the Indian Army have arrived to participate in the Navy Day to be held on Puri beach on December 4. President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to attend the event as chief guest. The Indian Navy will present its operational demonstration (Op Demo) on the day.
At least 24 warships and 40 aircraft and helicopters will showcase the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities on the occasion. The event aims at presenting Indian Navy’s multifaceted competencies, increasing maritime awareness among the people and commemorating India’s rich seafaring heritage.
The Indian Navy is working in coordination with the state government and local authorities for smooth conduct of the event. Besides the VVIPs, common people will also be allowed to witness the prowess of the Navy.
The event will also be broadcast live on national television and streamed on the Indian Navy’s YouTube channel.
