Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Odisha’s Puri will park its funds as fixed deposit in Union Bank of India.
The bank has assured an interest amount of 5.25 per cent, informed SJTA Development Administrator, Ajay Kumar Jena.
Speaking to mediapersons after a meeting with local bankers of nationalised banks he said only three banks were bidders for quotations invited by the temple authority from various public sector undertaking banks.
The Union Bank of India has quoted the highest amount of interest amount 5.25% followed by Canara Bank 5.20% and Bank of Baroda 4.95%, Jena added.
The arrangement is only for a year as the funds may be required for developmental activities of the temple, he said.
