Bhubaneswar: Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express train was detained at a station in Uttar Pradesh following a bomb threat on Sunday night.
As per reports, the train left Puri in Odisha on Saturday night. Following information that there was a bomb in the engine of the train, it was halted Chunar railway station in Mirzapur of Uttar Pradesh.
Dagmagpur station master received the information about the bomb in the locomotive of the train on the walkie-talkie. The station master was informed that there would be a blast in the train near Jhingura station. As soon he received the information, the train was halted at Chunar, according to a report of India TV.
The Railway officials along with GRP personnel, dog squad and bomb disposal squad searched the entire train for the bomb. However, after the search operation for nearly 4 hours, no bomb was found and the train was allowed to proceed further at 10.10 pm.
