Puri: The Jagannath Temple here will remain out of bounds for devotees from 2 pm to 6 pm on Saturday in view of the secret ritual ‘Rahu Rekha’ to be performed on the premises with the Shravan month coming to an end.
During Rahu Rekha, Daitapatis and temple servitors will put back the ornament that was removed from the heads of the deities on the day of Snana Purnima. The ritual will be performed inside the closed premises of the temple during the shutdown period, sources said.
The ornament shields Lord Jagannath from the ill influences of Rahu Kala, which is considered inauspicious, the sources added.
