Russian President Vladimir Putin assured India of full support in its fight against COVID-19 second wave during a phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening.
“The leadership of the Russian Federation made a decision, in the spirit of friendship and a particularly privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India, and in order to combat the sharp increase in the incidence of new coronavirus infection,” the Russian Federation said in a press release.
Russia will send oxygen concentrators, ventilators, anti-cancer drugs and other necessary medical and pharmaceutical products. These will be delivered in the next few days, reported republicworld
Modi posted a series of tweets, thanking Putin for Russia’s “help and support” and informing the other areas they covered during the conversation.
“Had an excellent conversation with my friend President Putin today. We discussed the evolving COVID-19 situation, and I thanked President Putin for Russia’s help and support in India’s fight against the pandemic,” Modi tweeted.
