New Delhi: A ragpicker in Bengaluru literally found a treasure of money but decided to report it instead of walking away with it. The bag he found in a garbage pile had 23 bundles of US dollars valued at Rs 25 crore.
Salman Sheikh, the ragpicker, found the bundle on November 1.
Surprised at the discovery, he took the bundle to his boss, Bappa, on November 5.
The boss then contacted social activist Kali Mullah, who, in turn, contacted the police Commissioner, NDTV reported.
Soon after, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, summoned them.
The notes are laced with a chemical and police suspect it to be the handiwork of gangs engaged in black dollar scam, the report added.
