Mayurbhanj: To rein in illegal fire cracker manufacturing factories, Baisinga Police conducted multiple raids in Bachuripada area on Friday.
The police seized 100 kg of explosives and more than 100 kg firecrackers and raw material. Two persons were also arrested in this connection. They have been identified as Biren Sahu and Laxmidhar Sahu.
A total of six cases of Odisha Fireworks and Loudspeakers Act have been registered against the accused.
According to sources, the police seized seized 20 kg white powder, 30 kg black powder, 10 kg silver powder, five quintal finished fireworks and three quintal preparatory material from the houses of Barun Kumar Sahu, Laxmidhar Sahu and Navendra Sahu.
Besides, a truck loaded with white powder, silver powder, iron dust, yellow powder, jute thread and empty earthen Kumpa, was seized in the Bachuripada area. The driver fled from the spot.
