Rain Forecast Over Odisha On Jan 21-22; Check Details

Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely over several parts of Odisha on Friday and Saturday (Jan 21-22), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the regional meteorological centre here forecast in its midday bulletin on Tuesday.

It also maintained its ‘yellow’ warning for dense fog on Wednesday and Thursday in several districts.

Jan 19 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Dense fog very likely at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kalahandi.

Jan 19 (8.30 am) to Jan 20 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Dense fog very likely at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Jan 20 (8.30 am) to Jan 21 (8.30 am)

Dry weather very likely to prevail over Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog very likely at one or two places over South Interior Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Jan 21 (8.30 am) to Jan 22 (8.30 am)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur. Dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest of Odisha.

Jan 22 (8.30 am) to Jan 23 (8.30 am)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. Dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest of Odisha.

There will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next two days and gradual rise by 3-4 degrees Celsius in subsequent three days over the state.

Daringbadi and Keonjhar were the coldest place in the state on Tuesday night, recording night temperatures of 9 degrees Celsius. Other places that recorded night temperatures less than 15 degrees Celsius were Sundergarh (12), Baripada (10.5), Balasore (11.5), Jharsuguda (9.8), Hirakud (11.6), Sambalpur (12.4), Talcher (12), Jajpur (12), Cuttack (12.6), Bhadrak (14.2), Chandbali (10.8), Bolangir (12), Sonepur (11), Boudh (12), Angul (11.6), Titlagarh (10.3), Phulbani (10), Nayagarh (11), Bhubaneswar (12.6), Paradip (14.1), Bhawanipatna (12.5), Chatrapur (13) and Koraput (14.5).
