Rain Intensity To Drop In Odisha From Tomorrow, Heavy Downpour Next Week

Bhubaneswar: Heavy downpour is likely to lash some parts of Odisha in next 24 hours, while the intensity of rain may decrease for two days from Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the depression over north Jharkhand moved west-northwestwards, intensified into a deep depression and lay centred over southwest Bihar and adjoining northwest Jharkhand. It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards across northwest Jharkhand, southwest Bihar, southeast Uttar Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh during next 48 hours.

In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said light to moderate rain and thundershower may occur at most places of the state during the next one week.

The weather agency issued yellow warning of heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur during the next 24 hours.

The intensity of rainfall is likely to decline for two days on Sunday and Monday and heavy downpour may resume from August 6.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain (7 to 11cm) may occur at one or two places of Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Balangir, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur districts.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of north Odisha.
