Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and light for 6 districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, till 7 pm on Saturday.
The districts are likely to be affected are Khurda, Puri, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the IMD has forecast thunderstorm with lightning t one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts till 8.30 on Friday. Light to moderate rain or thundershower may also occur at many places in Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and at a few places in remaining districts of the state.
