Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning warning at one or two places in the coastal and nine interior districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
A mid-day bulletin issued by the IMD said that a cyclonic circulation formed over south Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha will trigger rainfall in Odisha in the next 24 hours and continue for three days till April 10.
The yellow warning issued by the IMD for the following districts is as follows.
April 8
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjahr, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Dhenkanal.
April 9
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
April 10
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Ganjam and Gajapati.
