Bhubaneswar: In a good news for women students, Rama Devi Women’s University in the city will commence Master of Business Administration (MBA) and  Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy courses from 2022-2023 academic session.

“The state government has already given its approval to begin the courses. The university is already running a under graduate (UG) programme in Philosophy. From the coming session, a post-graduate (PG) course on the subject will also start,” TOI quoted vice-chancellor of the university Aparajita Chowdhury as saying.

According to Sasmita Mohanty, PG Council chairperson of the university, the MBA course will be run by a separate department. “The department will have seven faculty members. Initially, a teacher from the Commerce department will head the department,” she added.

The university had planned to open the MBA department two years ago, but it was stalled due to COVID pandemic. Its faculty will join soon before students take admission.

She further said three faculty members, presently teaching US courses in Philosophy, will look after the PG courses also.

The students, who want to take admission to MBA or MA in Philosophy courses, have to appear at the common PG entrance examination for selection. The university is currently offering 23 Undergraduate courses including two elective courses and 13 post-graduate programmes.
