New Delhi: All regular time-tabled passenger trains have been cancelled till 12 August due to the prevalent COVID-19 situation in the country. But the special trains will continue to provide services.
In a statement, the Railway Board on Thursday said, “It has been decided that regular time-tabled passenger services including Mail/Express, passenger and suburban services stand cancelled upto August 12.”
Similarly, the tickets booked for the regular time-tabled trains from July 1 to August 12 are also cancelled.
“It has also been decided that all the tickets booked for the regular time-tabled trains for the journey date from 01.07.20 to 12.08.20 also stand cancelled and full refund will be generated,” said the Board.
On May 15, the Railways had cancelled all trains scheduled for travel till June 30 and decided to refund the tickets.
However, the 230 special trains will continue to run, the release stated. Special Rajdhani and Special Mail/Express services were started on May 12 and June 1 respectively.
