Mumbai: After the roaring success of ‘Pathaan’, millions of Shah Rukh Khan’s fans had been impatiently waiting for his next release ‘Jawan’.
But their wait just got longer.
The action thriller, written and directed by Atlee, was originally scheduled to release on June 2. Now, the film will hit the screens on September 7.
Shah Rukh, who will be seen in a double role in the film being produced by his wife Gauri Khan, on Saturday shared a new teaser of ‘Jawan’ on Instagram Stories, showing him in a heavily bandaged avatar, jumping from a height with a spear-like weapon.
“#Jawan #7thSeptember2023,” he wrote alongside.
As fans are growing impatience about the film, many have shared their feelings in the comments section. A fan commented, “Thoda dard hua par seh lenge …..thoda aur wait kar lenge (it pains but we will bear it and wait some more).” Another said, “Ab rukha nahi jaara (can’t wait anymore).” A fan also wrote, “Go king. This is gonna be another hit.”
To address fans’ disappointment at the delayed release, Shah Rukh conducted an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter.
“Takes time and patience to make something worthy for audiences,” he told fans.
Jawan, which also features Nayanthara in the female lead, along with Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and Riddhi Dogra, will release worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Shah Rukh’s ‘Pathaan’ co-star Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt and Allu Arjun are also said to have guest appearances in the film.
