Mumbai: In a historic feat, Reliance Industries (RIL) obtained a market value of Rs 15 lakh crore as the first domestic company on Friday.
Following a massive surge in its share price, the market capitalisation of the Reliance industries reached Rs.15, 14, 017.5 crores on the Bombay Stock Exchange trade charts.
The heavyweight stock’s share price rose 4.12 per cent from its earlier price and reached Rs. 2,394.40 on Friday. This made the Mukesh Ambani-owned company the biggest gainer in Sensex.
The stock market also saw a sharp rally in the BSE 30-share benchmark index thanks to the surge in marketing capitalisation value of Reliance Industries Pvt Ltd.
The BSE-30 share benchmark index closed above the 58,000-mark for the first time. According to some analysts, the Reliance industries have gained over 20 per cent this year.
