Bhubaneswar: Prof. (Dr) P Satishchandra, one of India’s foremost epileptologists and a renowned name in the field of neurology, has joined KIMS Bhubaneswar as professor emeritus.
A highly accomplished doctor, Dr Satishchandra brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the institution.
Dr Satishchandra’s first OPD session at KIMS Bhubaneswar will be on Monday, August 21.
His special interests are in treating patients suffering from epilepsy, among other ailments. KIMS patients will benefit from his extensive knowledge and compassionate approach.
Dr Satishchandra, who the president of Indian Epilepsy Association during 2021-22, has won several awards in his distinguished career. Among them are the ‘Karnataka Rajyothsav Award’ by Karnataka government in 2014, Sir M Vishveshvaraih Award for Best Medical Scientist and ‘Ambassador for Epilepsy’ honour by the International League Against Epilepsy in 2007.
Former vice-chancellor of NIMHANS Bengaluru, he was associated with several other premier medical institutes in India and abroad.
