Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Department on Friday released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for reopening schools for Class VIII and XI students across Odisha from next week.
The offline classes for Class XI students will begin from October 21 and that for Class VIII from October 25.
According to the notification, physical classes for Standard VIII students will be held from 9 am to 12:30 pm while the class timings for Standard XI students is 10 am to 1.30 pm.
However, no cooked midday meals will be provided to the Class VIII students. “Both online and offline classes will continue and the students can attend the offline classes in consultation with their parents/guardians. No cooked midday meal will be served to the students of Class VIII and in lieu of that dry ration will be provided to students as being provided earlier,” the notification read.
Classroom teaching for Class X, IX and XII students will also resume from October 21 after the Puja vacation. The classes are being held from 10 am to 1.30 pm for these students since July and August this year.
