Bhubaneswar: A special court in Bhubaneswar has sentenced a retired sub-collector to rigorous imprisonment for two years in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Odisha Vigilance had filed the chaegesheet against Pradeep Kumar Barik, former sub-collector of Jharsuguda for possession of disproportionate assets.
Hearing the case, Special Judge, Special Court, Bhubaneswar convicted Barik and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him.
Mangra Kujur, former DSP, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division had investigated the case and Ajit Kumar Pattnaik, Special Public Prosecutor, Special Court, Bhubaneswar conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
