Bhadrak: The Vigilance officials of Balasore Division nabbed a revenue inspector (RI) while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 through a conduit in the district on Wednesday.
According to a release, Krishna Chandra Das, the RI of Kaitha Khola circle under Chandbali Tehsil had demanded the bribe from one Satyavrata Maiti through retired peon of the RI office Baidhar Jena in order to prepare and correct Record of Rights in favour of Maiti.
Acting on the complaint of Maiti, the Vigilance officials set a trap and caught the RI taking the bribe. The bribe money was recovered from Jena.
Further investigation into the matter is on.
