Rayagada: Torrential rain in the upper catchment has worsened the flood situation in Rayagada district.
According to reports, several low-lying areas along Bansadhara river in Gunupur block of the district were flooded as the water level rose to 83.08 metres, above danger mark of 83 metres, on Wednesday.
Kotpad and several other places in Koraput district too witnessed flash floods with Janra and Indravati rivers in spate following incessant rainfall.
In Nabarangpur district, vehicular movement between Raighar and Umerkote have been disrupted with water gushing on Raighar-Mahubhata culvert.
Meanwhile, fire personnel shifted more than 150 flood victims to safer places from Belkhandi Shiva temple near Kesinga in Kalahandi district.
