New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways on Wednesday announced 5% discount on the tickets booked using Unified Payment Interface (UPI) including BHIM application.
The ministry made the announcement in order to make the people digitally empowered under Digital India campaign. The discount is available only on reserved tickets booked through the passenger reservation system, according to a ministry release.
The discount will be applicable to tickets whose total value of basic fare will be Rs 100 and above. But, maximum discount on a ticket will not be more than Rs 50.
The commuters can avail the discount while booking tickets across the reservation counter. The facility will be available upto preparation of first reservation chart after which, it cannot be availed.
