Rourkela: Anjali Sahoo from Odisha’s steel city clinched bronze medal for India in the Asian Pencak Silat championship.
The championship, held at Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, saw 150 athletes from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India taking part.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the event, which was held from October 13-16 under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
It was the first international competition organized under the banner of Sports Council’s special initiative ‘My Youth My Pride’.
