Bhubaneswar: Anyone found spitting on recently-inaugurated swanky BMC- Intelligent City Operations and Management Centre (ICOMC) tower, already spoiled by paan and gutkha stains, on Janpath road in Odisha capital will be slapped a fine of Rs 1,000.
The penal action will be more stringent for staff working in the tower, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange told the media.
He clarified that the picture of stains on upper walls of the building shared on social media platforms are old and might have been done by the workers engaged prior to it inauguration. “Those walls will be repainted soon,” he added.
The state-of-the art tower has been constructed by the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) on 4.04 acre land in 24 months at an investment of nearly Rs 74 crore and act as city’s service headquarter.
