Sambalpur: Senior journalist Pramod Pattnayak, passed away due to cardiac arrest in Odisha’s Sambalpur city on Sunday morning. He was 65.
Pattnayak complained of uneasiness early this morning, following which he was shifted to district headquarter hospital and later to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.
He is survived by wife, two daughters and two sons.
His last rites were performed at Rajghat in the city. A large number of people gathered at cremation ground to bid adieu to the senior scribe.
Pattnayak did his graduation and Master of Arts (English) from the erstwhile GM College, Sambalpur. He started his journalism career with Odisha daily, The Utkal Mail, and went on to work with several media organisations, including The Times of India and the Statesman.
