Mumbai: Maanayata Dutt on Wednesday issued a statement on Sanjay Dutt’s cancer diagnosis, saying that the family is one of the fighters and thanked everyone for their concern and good wishes.
“I thank everyone who has expressed their well wishes for Sanju’s speedy recovery. We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase. There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past years but I am confident, this too shall pass.
“However, it is my heartfelt request to Sanju’s fans to not fall prey to speculations and unwarranted rumours, but to just help us with their ongoing love, warmth and support. Sanju has always been a fighter, and so has our family. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead.”
“All we seek is your prayers and blessings, and we know we will emerge as winners on the other side, as we always have. Let us use this opportunity to spread light and positivity,” she said in a statement.
Sanjay’s daughter Trishala Dutt had celebrated her 32nd birthday on Sunday. “32. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! It’s been a challenging year to say the least but I’m thankful for my health, family, and friends. I appreciate all the love, messages, calls, gifts, flowers, cakes, texts, voicemails, emails, etc. I love you all so much! Thank you for making my day so incredibly special & for always being there for me. I wish us all happiness, health, peace, & love. xxxx T,” she wrote on Instagram holding a bouquet of roses.
Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer. The actor had, earlier, said that he would be taking a break from ‘acting’ for ‘medical treatment’. He was admitted at the Leelavati Hospital over the weekend. After being discharged, he had revealed that he had tested negative for COVID-19.
He is likely to go to the US for treatment, reports suggest.
