Kalahandi: A sarpanch in Kalahandi district himself took the responsibility of sanitizing a quarantine centre on Friday.
Giridhari Teji, the sarpanch of Manjhari gram panchayat in Golamunda block, wore a PPE kit and sprayed disinfectant at the centre after the migrants quarantined there left the place.
The sanitizing quarantine centres is the responsibility of the fire services department. But Teji alleged that despite repeated pleas, fire brigade officials did not turn up. With no option left, he himself sanitized the quarantine centre.
