Bhubaneswar: The district judge court on Monday deferred the decision on the interim bail plea moved by a former director of Odisha Infra Tech Private Limited and former Chief Finance Officer of OTV, Manoranjan Sarangi, in Sarua land scam case, on health grounds.
The hearing will continue on Tuesday.
On November 1, the EOW had arrested Sarangi for his alleged involvement in the purchase of land belonging to some scheduled caste persons at Sarua village in Khurda district in a fraudulent manner. He resigned as CFO OTV and stepped down from the director’s post on November 6, citing health issues and personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Sarangi’s brother-in-law Harihar Mishra demanded that former Kendrapada MP and BJP leader Baijayant Panda and OTV MD Jagi Panda be grilled in connection with the case.
