New Delhi/Cuttack: The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice S Muralidhar, who is currently serving as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, as the Chief Justice of Madras High Court.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium, comprising justices D Y Chandrachud and Sanjay Kishan Kaul, on Wednesday, the PTI reported.
Justice S Muralidhar was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on January 4 2021.
He began his law practice in Chennai in September 1984. Three years later, he shifted to Delhi to practice at the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court. Justice Muralidhar was initially appointed as a judge of the Delhi High Court in May 2006 and later was transferred to the Punjab and Haryana High Court on March 6, 2020, before being elevated as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
