Bhubaneswar: Higher Education Minister Arun Sahu on Friday said the state government will take a decision on conducting the final year examinations of under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) courses after going through the verdict of the Supreme Court.
Earlier on the day, the Supreme Court upheld the July 6 circular of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to hold the final year examinations in September amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
While delivering the ruling through video-conferencing, a bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah said that the states not inclined to hold the examinations by September 30, will have to make representation to the UGC to postpone the deadline.
“The Supreme Court has announced its ruling on the final year examinations of UG and PG. The apex court has directed to conduct the examinations. After getting the certified copy of the order, we will go through the details and take a decision accordingly,” said Sahu.
