Malkangiri: The dismembered body of a school student was recovered from a reservoir in Chitrakonda in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Sunday.
According to sources, Kailash Majhi and Ajay Khara, the two school students of Jholaguda Operate Colony in Chitrakonda, had gone to the reservoir for a bath on Saturday morning.
While taking bath, Kailash suddenly went missing. Terrified, his friend dashed home and informed the villagers. The family members rushed to the bank of the reservoir and later came to know that their ward was attacked by a crocodile.
On Sunday, the locals found the body of Kailash floating on the water. After the body was recovered, it was found that the deceased had no legs and hands.
Following information, the forest staff and the local police arrived at the village.
The locals said that they had sighted three crocodiles in the reservoir. These crocodiles attack and kill goats and cows while they come to the reservoir to drink water.
