School Teachers, Khadi Artisans Among ‘Special Guests’ At Red Fort I-Day Ceremony

New Delhi: The Central government has invited ‘special guests’ from different fields to participate in the 77th Independence Day ceremony at the historic Red Fort on August 15.

The Department of School Education & Literacy of Ministry of Education has selected a group of 50 school teachers who have displayed outstanding dedication and commitment to shape and nurture young minds. These educators teach in Central Board of Secondary Education and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan schools from across the country.

These special guests will attend the two-day programme on August 14 and 15, and their itinerary includes a visit to India Gate, War Memorial and Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. They will also take part in an interactive session with Union Minister of State Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.

The Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), on the other hand, has invited 50 Khadi artisans and 62 artisans (Vishwakarmas) from 18 diverse trades, along with their spouses, to attend the Tricolour-hoisting ceremony by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and listen to his address to the Nation.

The artisans will later join the celebration at the residence of Union Minister of MSME Narayan Rane.

A total of 1,800 special guests from across India will attend Tuesday’s celebrations at Red Fort.
