Kendrapara: Police on Wednesday detained a schoolteacher for alleged misbehaving with a girl student in Bandhapada Gram Panchayat High School of Rajanagar block in Kendrapara district.
According to sources, the schoolteacher, identified as Ananta Charan Patra of Gobindapur village, called a girl student of Class-VIII to an empty classroom and misbehaved with her.
Patra misbehaved with her several times earlier.
When the girl could not bear the harassment, she narrated her ordeal to her parents on July 11, following which, they informed the headmaster and school management committee about the same.
A written complaint was also filed at Rajanagar police station against the teacher.
Based on the complaint, police detained the teacher and started interrogating him.
