Bhadrak: Security has been beefed up with police conducting flag march in communally sensitive Bhadrak town for Ram Navami celebration on Sunday.
According to sources, more than 100 tableaus have arrived in the town from nearby areas to participate in a grand procession on the occasion of completion of the nine-day celebration tomorrow. The town has been decorated with colourful gates, banners and festoons for the occasion.
As part of celebration, a Maha Yajna was started after women took out Kalash Yatra (procession carrying holy pots) and went around the town on Friday. After the completion of the Yajna, the tableaus carrying the idols of Lord Ram will be carried out on Sunday.
In order to ensure peaceful procession, the district administration has deployed 40 platoons of police force including 3 platoons of Rapid Action Force (RAF). Three additional SPs, 10 DSPs, 19 inspectors and 105 ASIs will supervise the security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.
Police have been conducting flag march in the town for two days to maintain law and order.
