Security Forces Bust Maoist Dump, Recover Arms & Explosives In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A joint team of Special Operation Group (SOG) and DVF seized a huge haul of materials, including explosives in a jungle area of Nadmenjeri village under Jantri gram panchayat in the Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district.

Informing about the seizures, Malkangiri SP Nitesh Wadhwani said the security forces foiled the attempt of the Maoists to create disturbance during the Panchayat elections with the seizures.

The seized materials include 5 guns, tiffin bomb, pressure IED, 2 detonators, electric wire and equipment to make landmine.

It may be mentioned that the security forces had intensified combing operation in the Swabhiman Anchal area in view of the panchayat polls. The explosives along with other articles belong are suspected to belong to AOBSZC group of Maoists.

Combing and search operations have been further intensified and Malkangiri Police are confident of ensuring free, fair and safe PRI elections in Swabhiman Anchal, said the SP.
