Bhubaneswar: To improve the mobility and response time of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, Railways introduced the Segway patrolling system at Bhubaneswar Railway Station on Tuesday.
Inaugurating the facility, General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR) Vidya Bhushan said the battery-operated eco-friendly system will help RPF personnel to move from one place to another during patrolling at stations in less time and help in crowd control. With this system, the RPF personnel will be able to provide safety to passengers and protect railway property, he added.
Six Segways have been deployed in Bhubaneswar and the facility is likely to be introduced in Cuttack and Puri stations soon.
