Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer of Odisha cadre of 1985 batch Gagan Dhal has resigned from his service.
Official sources said Dhal, who was to superannuate in January 2020, had informed the state government about his decision to resign from the service.
Notably, the state government, in a minor reshuffle in the top bureaucracy on Thursday, had appointed senior IAS officer Pradipta Mahapatra as the Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) in place of Dhal.
In his resignation letter, Dhal said that former Chief Minister late Biju Patnaik has been an inspiration for him and he, therefore, would not take any pension, the sources added.
