Puri: DGP Abhay on Tuesday said all arrangements are in place for smooth celebration of Rath Yatra in Puri without active participation of the devotees while following the COVID -19 guidelines as per the Supreme Court order.
The DGP said due to the prevalent COVID-19 situation, this year’s Rath Yatra is a midway between full-fledged Rath Yatra and not holding the festival at all.
He further said Additional DG (Law and order) is in overall charge of the arrangements for the festival.
While DIG, CRP Asish Kumar Singh is in charge of the chariot of Lord Jagnnath, Puri SP Uma Das has been assigned the responsibility of the chariot of Devi Subhadra and DIG STF Pankaj for Lord Balabhadra, Abhay said.
