Jeypore/Balasore/Sundargarh: At least three persons were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in Koraput, Sundargarh and Balasore districts of the state.
In the first incident, a couple died while their son sustained critical injuries after the car in which they were travelling dashed with a roadside tree near Tapajari under Baipariguda police limits in Koraput district late on Thursday.
The deceased man has been identified as Chaitanya Prasad Mohanty.
The injured has been admitted to Sahid Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
The ill-fated vehicle was heading towards Malkangiri from Kakatpur area of Puri district when the accident took place.
Similarly, a person was killed and two others were grievously injured after the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a bus near College Square in Rajgangpur of Sundargarh district last night.
The bus driver fled from the spot soon after the mishap.
In yet another such incident, three persons, including a child, were injured in a head-on collision between a scooter and an auto-rickshaw in Soro of Balasore district this morning.
