As a sizeable population in the state has received two doses of vaccines, the survey will help measure the antibodies developed in their bodies to protect them from the virus, she said.
Pati hoped that the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, where 50 per cent of the population had developed antibodies during the serosurvey held in October and November last year, will show better results after the vaccination.
There is a need to conduct a serosurvey every six months, she added.
NOVEMBER RESULTS
One among every two persons in Cuttack city was found to have developed antibodies against SARS-CoV2 during the first-phase serosurvey conducted between November 2 and 5.
The survey to monitor the community-level transmission of the pandemic found that 46.39 per cent population were exposed to coronavirus infection.
Of the 2,274 samples collected and tested, 1,055 were SARS CoV-2 antibody positive.
