Kabul: Unidentified armed men reportedly abducted eight persons, seven among them Indians, from Bagh-e-Shamal village in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan on Sunday.
Baghlan police said the engineers were on their way to a government-run power station in a minibus when the incident took place.
Two officials at the Indian embassy in Kabul confirmed the kidnapping of the engineers.
The Indian nationals are staff members of KEC International Ltd, an infrastructure company which recently bagged Rs 226-crore contract in the war-torn country.
