Mumbai: Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan on Saturday announced a spooky contest for budding filmmakers to make a scary indoor movie.

Shah Rukh took to Twitter to share the details of the competition. He wrote, “Since we’ve all got a bit of time on our hands in quarantine, thought I can get us all to work a bit… in a fun, creative and… spooky way! #SpookSRK.”

“Since we all have a bit of time on our hands and have binged a lot of shows and films, how about we channel the inner filmmaking ghost in us to make a scary indoor film with an element of horror to it,” he added.

SRK has also laid down some rules for the contestants participating in the spooky contest.

The rules are as follows:

  • Participants can choose any camera available in their house
  • A prop that can be used spookily but has to be readily available at home
  • It can be a solo project or you can choose multiple people while adhering to the social distancing norms

Contestants can send their entries latest by May 18, 2020.

The judges for the competition will be Viineet, Aahana, Director Patrick Graham and producer Gaurav Verma.

Three winners will be selected and they will get a chance to speak to Shah Rukh and the team of Betaal via video call.

The contest is being held to promote Shah Rukh’s upcoming home production ‘Betaal.’
