Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has named Supriya Sule and Praful Patel as working presidents of the party.
The announcement was made during the party’s 25th anniversary celebration in presence of Ajit Pawar, his nephew and a key player in the NCP.
According to reports, Sule has been given the charge of Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab along with coordination in Lok Sabha. Praful Patel, on the other hand, could have been made in charge of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Goa. Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, which are going to polls later this year.
Notably, Sharad Pawar offered to resign from the presidency of the party last month, but it was rejected by an NCP panel, which urged him to continue in the post.
