New Delhi: India recorded 1,247 fresh COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, a nearly 43 per cent drop from Monday’s 2,183 cases.
Monday’s 2,183 cases marked a 90 per cent increase in new cases and a 165 per cent increase in positivity rate on a single day.
The Centre said that Kerala reported its state-level COVID data after a gap of five days on Monday, which pushed up cases, deaths and positivity rate.
Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal has asked Kerala to “ensure daily updation” of COVID data.
India’s total COVID cases rose to 4,30,45,527 on Tuesday, while active cases increased to 11,860 or 0.03 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
The death count climbed to 5,21,966 with one fresh fatality reported from Uttar Pradesh.
