Bhubaneswar: Actor Manoj Mishra and Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena have appealed the public to vote for Odia singer Shasank Sekhar, who is among the top-10 finalists in music reality show Rising Star Season 2, which is being telecast on Colors TV channel.
With his captivating renditions, the 28-year-old singer has not only enthralled the audience but has also become one of the favourites of the judges – Shankar Mahadevan, Monali Thakur and Diljit Dosanjh.
An alumnus of city-based Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Shasank’s rendition of ‘Teri Meri Kahani,’ from the movie ‘Gabbar’ received rave reviews. However, his fate of going forward in the reality show will depend on public voting.
After winning the runners up trophy in music reality show ‘Amari Swara’ telecast in a regional channel in 2010, Shasank has lent his voice in films like ‘Tu Kahibu Na Mu’, ‘Prem Weds Priya’, ‘Kalki’, ‘Maya’, ‘Samay Bada Balban’ and ‘Bobal Toka’ besides several music videos and live concerts.
