Puri: After being closed for three days, the Shri Jagannath temple in Puri reopened on Monday for devotees.
The temple was closed to avoid rush of devotees on New Year amid a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases and rising Omicron cases in the state.
During the period it was closed, authorities also sanitised the temple thoroughly.
The district and police administration have made elaborate arrangements to manage the crowd and enforce COVID norms following the reopening of the temple on Monday.
